Pramod Luthra

As Associate Postgraduate Dean in the Deanery I have a few areas of responsibility –

Lead Associate Dean with responsibility to the North Western Deanery School of Surgery and the surgical specialties including core surgical training within the School.

Geographical patch training support and responsibility- Tameside NHS Trust, Stockport Foundation Trust, University of South Manchester Foundation Trust and Christie Hospital Foundation Trust.

Portfolio responsibility and support – 

Lead Associate Dean for -Technology enhanced learning including Simulation based education, Equality & Diversity, Overseas doctors in training, Article 14 and SAS doctors. I represent the Deanery on the national overseas doctor’s sub group of CoPMED (COD) and SAS doctors sub group of CoPMED (CoPSAS). I also have involvement in learning in different environments (including independent sector),

I am a member of the Simulation working group of the Joint Committee of Surgical Training (JCST) and a member of CoPSS (Heads of Schools of Surgery UK).

Clinical appointments:

Consultant Hand and Plastic Surgeon, Oldham, Pennine Acute Trust.

Honorary Plastic Surgeon, University Hospital of South Manchester.

Educational:
I am also an Honorary Clinical Lecturer with the Manchester Medical School, teaching Medical students.
Examiner on the Court of Examiners of the Royal College of Surgeons in England and an Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Associate Tutor Edge Hill University

I have worked with two Universities and organised a PGC in Simulation based education and  a separate module on Technology enhanced learning as part of a Masters programme in Academic practice.

I am a :

Visiting Professor to Department of Health Social Care and Psychology, Manchester Metropolitan University.

Visiting Professor to the Faculty of Education, Edge Hill University.

In 1996 I was appointed as Honorary Visiting Professor to the Department of Surgery at King George’s Medical School, Lucknow, India.
