Doctors who can demonstrate they have the knowledge, skills and experience equivalent to the approved curriculum for their specialty may be able to apply for specialist registration via the Portfolio pathway (formerly known as CESR).
A Portfolio pathway application is made to the GMC. There is extensive information and guidance about the process on the GMC website – see Portfolio pathway application - GMC.
There is specific guidance for each specialty, which is available at Specialty Specific Guidance - GMC.
This group includes Portfolio Pathway Champions, SAS Tutors, and Consultants who are willing to provide support and guidance to those currently undertaking a Portfolio Pathway application.
