North West Neurosurgery
Neurosurgery encompasses the diagnosis assessment and surgical management of disorders of the nervous system, including the brain, central nervous system and spinal cord.
Neurosurgery training in HEE North West is divided between two sectors and each have their own Training Programme Director. Please select one of the following for further information on each sector:

Educational Opportunities
There is a structured Northern regional teaching programme which is compulsory. This includes trainees from units in Manchester, Preston, Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield and Hull.
Audit and Teaching
All trainees should be actively involved in audit on an ongoing basis and be in a position to demonstrate this at annual appraisal and ARCP interviews.
Teaching and Leadership Opportunities
Teaching of less experienced medical colleagues, medical students, nurses and other paramedical staff is an integral part of the post and all trainees are expected to be involved in this.
