LEAD EMPLOYER TEAM FOR GP SPECIALTY TRAINING
Health Education England working across the North West was the first in the UK to have a single lead employer for all its GP Specialty Trainees. The organisations currently providing this service are Pennine Acute NHS Trust and St Helens & Knowsley Trust. They both have a dedicated HR team that deals with all aspects of employment for GP Specialty Trainees.
Their responsibilities include completing all pre-employment checks such as checking your right to work, completing a CRB disclosure and Occupational Health checks amongst others. They are always on hand for advice on contractual matters such as pay, all types of leave such as annual, bank holiday, special, maternity and paternity leave, as well as dealing with disciplinary and grievances to name just a few. Should you ever require Occupational Health support, the relevant lead employer can arrange this for you too.
