GPST Study Leave

Study Leave Process

The general practice study leave budget is for the education of GP specialty DiTs.  The education budget is limited and is public money. The Director of Postgraduate General Practice Education has the responsibility for ensuring efficient spending.  Study leave is not a right and cannot be absolutely guaranteed.  Study leave must be applied for in advance and forms approved in accordance with the Study Leave Policy.

There is a single study leave process applicable across all specialties including GP - see flow chart below.

Contact for Applications

The study leave process asks you to email your Training Programme Director or their administrator. Some TPDs would prefer DiTs to email themselves directly rather than an administrator. The following document lists the TPDs and who to email for purposes of study leave.
