Dr Aruna Hodgson has been an Associate Dean (Hospital and Community) since April 2018. Her responsibilities include leading on the development of SAS doctors and international doctors across the North West, as well as being the link Associate Dean for particular trusts and specialty schools.
Aruna undertook her medical training in Cambridge and then trained in General Practice before specialising in Palliative Medicine. She was a Consultant in Palliative Medicine and Medical Director at Wigan & Leigh Hospice from September 2005 to March 2018, and Joint Medical Director for Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust from April 2020 to April 2023.
She is keen to ensure that all doctors receive effective induction, supervision and support to enable them to thrive in their work and career.
