Jane Mamelok has recently been appointed as Postgraduate Medical Dean (October 2016) and will continue to lead the team delivering multi-professional workforce education and development across the North West.
Whilst I carry a broad portfolio of responsibilities the strategic area that I lead on is Higher Specialist Training. I Chair the Committee, which develops policies and guidelines, which inform specialist registrar training.
I am a Geriatrician at Bolton, though unusual in that I was a trainee GP (now called GP registrars) in Cheetham Hill before this, being one of only two hospital seniors I know who passed the MRCGP examination.
Colette qualified in Microbiology and then Dentistry in Leeds. She followed a career in oral surgery and is currently a Consultant/Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Oral surgery at Liverpool University Dental Hospital.
I qualified from Manchester University in 1984 and practice half time as a GP and GP trainer in Stockport. I was appointed an Associate Dean for General Practice in 2003.
Appointed associate dean for Dental Core Training in 2015. Prior to this had been involved in DCT in some form within Mersey Deanery since appointed as a consultant in 2003.
I am a thoroughly Northern Lass having been born in Whiston Hospital and I have never lived more than 40 miles from there. I went to Liverpool University and did my GP training in Mersey qualifying in 1998.
