After qualifying from Oxford Medical School in 1996, I returned to South Manchester. After completing the Stockport VTS in 2000, I spent a year as a locum GP before becoming a full time partner at Brinnington Surgery where I have been now for 14 years.
I am a GP trainer and also have experience as a GP appraiser and as a facilitator on the HPE and PED courses. I have completed a Postgraduate Certificate in GP Education at Manchester University and an MSc in General Practice at UCLan. I was a PCME in Stockport for 8 years running the ST3 structured teaching programme until 2015. I joined the Associate Director team in July 2014 with patch responsibility for both Stockport and Tameside and Glossop. I currently tutor on the 'Basic' Trainers Course, the Teaching and Supervision Masterclass and am joint lead for the Foundation Training in GP support and development.
I live in Mellor (Stockport) with my wife Rachel (another GP trainer), three children - Emily, Lucy, Matthew, and a border collie called Sam. I enjoy singing in Mellor Church Choir and hill walking.
