A Programme of Career Support

 

For Staff Grades, Associate Specialists and other non-training grade doctors within the North Western Deanery who wish to give their careers a renewed sense of purpose.

 

 

 

 

 

The current programme runs over a year and comprises of:

  • 3 one to one personal Career Coaching sessions with a professional coach
  • A MSF feedback which will be fully supported by careers staff
  • Supporting pages on the NW Deanery’s Virtual Learning Centre
  • 5 workshops from the following list:
    • How to be Successful
    • CESR – How to attain equivalence via article 14
    • Relationship Building for Careers Success – the Art of Networking
    • Interview and selection skills
    • Power, Influencing and Negotiation skills
    • Presentation skills
    • Improving Work-Life Balance
    • Assertiveness skills

A pilot cohort of Crossroads ran from November 2007 to July 2008
The 1st cohort of Crossroads ran from April 2008 to April 2009
The 2nd cohort of Crossroads ran from September 2008 to September 2009
The 3rd cohort of Crossroads ran from April 2009 to April 2010
The 4th cohort of Crossroads ran from September 2009 to July 2010

 

The 5th cohort of the programme will run from September 2010 to July 2011.

We are currently unable to commit to a 6th cohort of the programme in its current form. We are however developing online versions of several of the courses included on the programme which will be becoming available over the coming year on the Virtual Learning Centre.
