Jane qualified in July 1990 from Leeds University. She carried out voluntary Vocational Training from 1990-1991 at Appleby–in-Westmorland. She was in General Practice in Lancaster from 1991-2004. Jane worked for Blackburn and Darwen and East Lancashire Community Dental Service from 2004-2010 and then from 2010-2012 at Ringway Preston. From 2012 to date she has worked at The Department of Special Care Dentistry, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.
