Meet the Team

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion group was established in September 2016 with the aim of supporting HEE's work to ensure that all trainee doctors and dentists are treated fairly and enabled to reach their full potential. Outlined below is the profiles of those involved in this group which gives an insight of who they are and why they joined.

Fair Training Pathways for All: Understanding Experiences of Progression (Final Report)

This project was part of a programme of research commissioned by the General Medical Council (GMC) to explore why UK doctors from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups, and doctors whose Primary Medical Qualification (PMQ) is from a medical school outside of the UK have, on average, poorer outcomes in assessments and recruitment compared to white doctors and UK medical school graduates.

How do doctors progress through key milestones during training? (Final Report)

The annual publication of data relating to doctors’ performance or progress of doctors at critical training milestones helps us investigate factors associated with variation – such as location, specialty or demographic characteristics.
